Col. R.R. Wallace Dies, Pebble Beach
Col. Rush Richard Wallace (U.S. M.C. ret.) succumbed last evening in his Pebble Beach home following an extended illness. Born on December 29, 1879, in St. Louis, Missouri, he came to reside in the community following his retirement in 1935. Colonel Wallace was a veteran of the Spanish American War and World War I, during which de saw service in many foreign countries. He leaves his wife, Mrs. May Stewart Wallace of Pebble Beach, and a niece, Miss Theodora H. Pleadwell of Poughquag, New York. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the Paul Mortuary. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday in the Carmel Mission. The body will be shipped to Arlington National Cemetery, where Naval honors will be paid in graveside ceremonies, and burial will take place in the family plot. Local arrangements are in charge of the Paul Mortuary.

Last Rites for Col. R.R. Wallace
Requiem High Mass was said this morning in Carmel Mission for Colonel Rush Richard Wallace, whose death occurred on Wednesday in his Pebble Beach home. Honorary pallbearers were Capt. E.T. Hook, Capt. H.E. Odel, William H. Hargrave, W.W. Wheeler, Col. Roger S. Fitch, Col. William E. Pulliam, Maj. Carl A. Bachelder, Maj. G.H. Gooden, Ernest Morehouse, and the Rev. C.J. Hulsewe. The body has been shipped to Fort Myers, Va., where graveside services will be held at the family plot in the Arlington National Cemetery. Local arrangements were in charge of the Paul Mortuary.
