Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA May 13, 1952 p2
Miss Adaline Decker Gray, 96, died yesterday afternoon at her Carmel home, between Thirteenth and Santa Lucia on Carmelo street. Miss Gray was born April 20, 1856, in Darlington, Wis., and her long memory of events included several of the addresses made by Abraham Lincoln, and her father, a senator in the Wisconsin Legislature, was instrumental in obtaining equal suffrage for women in Wisconsin, the first state to grant this right. Miss Gray was one of two Carmel members of the Woman’s Party for Equal Rights. Before coming to live in Carmel in 1906, she resided in Palo Alto, and prior to that in San Francisco. She was a retired real estate broker. Miss Gray leaves a niece, Mrs. Anna M. James of Carmel, and four nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Little Chapel by-the-Sea Crematorium. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
