Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Oct. 25, 1941
Alma Woodward, Edward Carrick To Wed Thursday
It will be an informal, quiet wedding next Tuesday, October 28, at which Miss Alma Woodward of Monterey and Long Beach will become the bride of Edward Carrick of Monterey. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the Oak Grove home of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Carrick, parents of the bridegroom-to-be. Miss Woodward, who until recently held a secretarial position at the Presidio of Monterey, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Woodward of Long Beach. She has been visiting her parents in the southern city for the past two weeks, and last Wednesday was the honor guest at a shower given by a group of her friends there. On Monday the bride-elect and her parents will arrive in Monterey for the wedding on the following day. Alma is a graduate of Compton Junior college. A former Monterey Union high school student, Mr. Carrick is the brother of Olan Carrick of Pacific Grove and Woodrow and Thomas Carrick of Oak Grove. He will establish a home for his bride in Oak Grove.
