Edgar C.B. Kirsopp of Pebble Beach, member of the board of several industries in the East, died last night in a local hospital at the age of 67. Mr. Kirsopp was born Aug. 20, 1892, at Linlithgow, Scotland, coming to this country in 1919 and becoming a U.S. citizen in 1929, he moved to Pebble Beach from Radnor, Pa., in 1956, making his home on Sonada drive. He was a member of the Carmel Presbyterian Church. He joined the Rohm and Haas chemical company of Philadelphia in 1919, served on the board of directors for 32 years and had been vice chairman of the board since 1938. Mr. Kirsopp also was president of the Southern Resin and Chemical Co., a director of the National Drug Co., chairman of the board of the Carter Paper Co. of Camden, N.J., and a trustee of Wilson College at Chambersburg, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Pebble Beach; three children, Mrs. Jane K. MacBean of Berwyn, Pa., Mrs. Dougal K. Jones of Atherton, and Edgar J. Kirsopp of Devon, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Gemmell and Miss Marjorie Kirsopp, both of Barnton, Scotland; and a brother, Wilf Kirsopp of Macclenny, Fla. Private services will be held at the Little Chapel by-the-Sea Crematorium in Pacific Grove. Memorial services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at the Carmel Presbyterian Church by Dr. Joseph m. Ewing. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Contributions in memory of Mr. Kirsopp may be made in the form of donations to the Peninsula Community Hospital Building Fund, Carmel.
