Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Dec. 2, 1968
Betsy Moore Kay and W.L. Nason Have Altar Date
The engagement of Betsy Moore Kay of Palo Alto and Willoughby Leland Nason of Pebble Beach is being announced and the young couple are making plans for a March 22 wedding. The bride-elect, daughter of Mrs. Jerry Skerry Kay of Palo Alto and the late L. Douglas Kay, is a graduate of Awalt High School, Los Altos, and of Foothill College. She is a member of the Los Altos Hunt Club. Miss Kay is the sister of Mrs. James T. Coogan (Susan Kay) and John Alan Kay. Her grandparents were the late Mr. & Mrs. Harry R. Skerry and the late Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Douglas Kay of Morristown, N.J. Mr. Nason is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Hal Wyman Nason of Pebble Beach. He studied at Robert Louis Stevenson School here and at Windlesham House School, Washington Sussex, England, and will graduate next year from Stanford University. He is a member of the North London Rifle Club and The Beach and Tennis Club in Pebble Beach. He is the brother of Mrs. Marvin Hall of Palo Alto, Mrs. Paul Morlang of Reno and Frank Nason of Oxnard. Mrs. James Alan Coogan, who recently returned from Caracas, Venezuela, entertained for the young couple and 15 family members at a Thanksgiving dinner that featured a South American menu. Decorations combined the holiday theme with the d├ęcor used at South American weddings. When Miss Kay and Mr. Nason recite their wedding vows, she will be attended by Miss Joy Powers of Monterey and Mrs. William Bull Pringle III (Gay Powers) of Berkeley.
