Mrs. Helen Hunt Roberts, a resident of Carmel for the past 14 years, died last night in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 25, 1892, in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. With her husband, the late Edward W. Roberts, she moved to Carmel from Palo Alto in 1947, establishing a home in La Loma Terrce. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Carmel Mission Basilica and active in the work of the Altar Society there. She was also active in the Carmel Woman’s Club. Her husband died in May, 1951. Surviving are: a brother, James Hunt of Kenosha, Wis., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are pending the arrival of relatives and will be announced later by the Paul Mortuary. Friends wishing to make contributions in the memory of Mrs. Roberts may do so in the form of donations to the Monterey County Heart Assn., Monterey; or to the Monterey County Cancer Research Society, Monterey.

Tuesday Rites Helen Hunt Roberts
Helen Hunt Roberts of Carmel died Wednesday at a local hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Roberts was born in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. On May 25, 1892, and lived for the past 14 years in Carmel. Mrs. Roberts was a veteran of World War I and served as a nurse. She is survived by a brother, James T. Hunt of Kenosha, Wis.; two nephews, Leslie A. Southwick of San Rafael and Frank Hunt of Los Angeles; and several other nieces and nephews from out of state. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Mission Carmel Basilica. A rosary will be recited at the Paul Funeral Chapel Monday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot in the San Carlos Catholic Cemetery in Monterey. Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
