Pacific Grove Tribune Fri., Feb. 6, 1945
Army Career Begins for Bill Tumbleson
William Tumbleson was among the group of new army recruits who left here February 6 and was sent to Camp Beatle for further assignment. His wife and two children, Billy 4 and Dick 18 months, are living at 410 Lobos avenue, and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Tumbleson, are 14th street residents. With them at present is Bill’s sister, Mrs. Stanley Bishop, whose husband has recently been transferred to the Monterey Naval base. Delmer of Palo Alto, and Reginald of Salinas are Bill’s two brothers. As preliminary to an army career, Tumbleson spent a few months as engineer’s aid with the army engineers corps at San Francisco and before that he was with the Merchant Marine for several months. He had been employed in various capacities on the Peninsula since graduation from Pacific Grove high school in 1937.
