Lee Kee Kwon, proprietor of Lee’s Diner in Seaside, died yesterday in a local hospital after an illness of about six months. A resuscitator squad of the Seaside Fire Department was called to his home, 658 Sonoma Ave., and administered oxygen to Mr. Kwon at 11:34 a.m. Saturday when he had difficulty breathing. He was then taken to the Monterey Hospital, but died the following day. Mr. Kwon was born Oct. 29, 1898, in China. He had made his home in Seaside for the past six years. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Mary Kwon of Seaside; three sons, Lee Yick Soon of Fresno, Thomas Lee and Robert Kwon of Seaside; a stepson, Edward Vanderbeck of Kansas; and a daughter, Vickie Lee Kwon of Seaside. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Seaside Funeral Chapel. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Xavier Church, following brief rites at 9 o’clock in the Seaside Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in the Catholic section of Mission Memorial Park.
