S.G. Blythe’s Sister Dies
Mrs. Mary Blythe Chatfield, who was born in Geneseo, New York, and was the sister of Samuel G. Blythe, also a native of Geneseo, and now a resident of Pebble Beach, died at her home in Spuyten Duyvil, New York City, on the banks of the Hudson, on Saturday, January 31, aged 71. Mrs. Chatfield was the wife of George H. Chatfield, deputy commissioner for education, New York City. She leaves, also, a daughter, Constance, who is the wife of Randolph Halsey, professor of biology, at Columbia University and a sister, Miss S. Rebecca Blythe, who occupied administrative positions in the New York public schools for many years, and is now retired. Mrs. Chatfield had been ill for a long time, and her death was not unexpected.
