Mark Thomas and Jean Lapham Wed in Hermosa Beach
Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Force, Jr., of Carmel were present in St. Cross Church at Hermosa Beach last Saturday at four o’clock when Mrs. Force’s brother, Clarence Mark Thomas, claimed Miss Jean Lapham as his bride. White gladioli and roses adorned the church for the wedding. The bride wore a white chiffon velvet gown that was fashioned with a Victorian off-the-shoulder neckline, a close-fitting bodice, long tight sleeves and a full skirt that extended into a long train. Her pearl Juliet cap held her tulle veil and she carried a shower of gardenias and lilies of the valley. Mrs. S.C. Dunlap III, who was her sister’s only attendant, wore a chartreuse chiffon gown and carried Talisman roses. Edwin Thomas of Palo Alto was his son’s best man, and ushers were Don Burger and Phillip D. Carr. A reception in the Palos Verdes home of Mr. & Mrs. Dunlap followed the wedding. When the newlyweds left for a honeymoon, the bride wore a beige pin-striped suit with brown accessories and a brown toque trimmed with brown and cerise feathers. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas will make their home in San Francisco, where they have taken an apartment on Jones street. The bridegroom, formerly of Hotel Del Monte, is now manager of the University Club in San Francisco.
