Army Lieutenants Claim Brides at Del Monte Chapel
Four college friends from Montana State university are now two married couples who exchanged their vows together at what was almost a double wedding last Sunday afternoon at two o’clock. Reverend Theodore Bell officiated at the wedding services in St. John’s chapel, at Del Monte. Miss Barbara Frances Adams of Billings, Montana, and Lieutenant Thomas Barton O’Donnell of Fort Ord were united in marriage at two o’clcok, and immediately thereafter Miss Elizabeth Mitchell McClure of Missoula, Montana, said her vows with Lieutanant Bruce C. Babbitt of Fort Ord. Lieutenant John Duncan of Helena, Montana, who is also stationed at Ord, performed the duties of best man for both bridegrooms, while the brides served as each other’s maid of honor. Mrs. Babbitt wore a gold wool dress with a small gold faille hat and a corsage of gardenias and violets, while Mrs. O’Donnell was attired in a blue crepe princess dress with a matching halo hat and veil and a corsage of white orchids Following the wedding, the two brides and bridegrooms, accompanied by Lieutenant Duncan and by Mrs. O’Donnell’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Culver of Los Angeles, had their wedding dinner at the Hotel San Carlos. Mrs. O’Donnell is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Adams of Billings, Montana, and her husband is the son of the Thomas O’Donnells of Wyoming. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Montana State, and her husband was a Sigma Nu there. Mrs. Babbitt, daughter of Mrs. Blanche McClure of Missoula, was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma and Lieutenant Babbitt, son of the Ralph Babbitts of Livingston, Montana, was a Sigma Chi With only ten hours’ leave from their duties, the bridegrooms returned to Fort Ord and their brides are sharing a Carmel cottage.
