A Ceremony in the Carmel Basilica
Catherine Jane Shabram became the bride of James Andrew Vickrey on May 23 at the Carmel Mission Basilica with the Rev. Felix Migliazzo performing the 2 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lyle F. Shabram of Carmel. She is the sister of Mary Beth Shabram, who was flower girl; Joe Shabram, the best man; Paul and Lyle Shabram, who ushered; Jeffrey and Kevin, altar boys for the ceremony; Stephen Shabram, and Mrs. Kenneth Plass of Sacramento, who had charge of the guest book. The new Mrs. Vickrey attended Carmel High School. Mr. Vickrey is the son of Col. And Mrs. Charles R. Vickrey of Loring Air Force Base in Maine. His mother attended the wedding but Col. Vickrey was unable to come West because of Air Force duty. The bridegroom has a sister, Debbie Vickrey, and he is the twin brother of Alan Vickrey; another brother, Craig, was killed two months ago in Vietnam. He attended Carmel High School and will enter Monterey Peninsula College in the fall. He is employed at Safeway in Carmel. Maid of honor was Cynthia Russell of Carmel. The bride wore a floor length cotillion gown of nylon lace designed with glove point sleeves, a Sabrina neckline and tiered lace ruffles which fell into a cathedral train. Her veil of illusion was held by a matching crown and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and bouvardia centered with a white orchid. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents in Carmel, after which the couple left for a wedding trip to the San Francisco area. Their new home is in Carmel.
