Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA June 2, 1969
Marlane Thues is Married
Honolulu, Hawaii, will be the new home of Lt. (j.g.) and Mrs. William Howard Hamilton Jr., who were married May 17 at the Presidio of Monterey Chapel. Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Torben Olsen of Fort Ord performed the 4 p.m. ceremony which was followed by a reception at the Presidio Officers’ Club. The former Marlane Marie Thues, a Monterey Peninsula College graduate, is the daughter of Lt. Col. Raymond Leon Thues (USA ret) and Mrs. Thues of Capitola. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. & Mrs. William Howard Hamilton of Pittsburgh, Pa. The bride wore an empire style white organza gown designed with a wedding ring neckline, bishop sleeves and a chapel train, and accented with appliqued Venise lace daisies. A bandau of lace daisies held her tiered silk illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations, with fern and ivy. Linda Ambrosio of Carmel was the bride’s maid of honor. The other attendants were Becky Liles of Santa Barbara and Nancy Hamilton of Pittsburgh sister of the bridegroom. Their dresses were of maize chiffon and saki. Lt. (j.g.) Thomas J. Waller of Richmond served as best man. Ushering were Lt. (j.g.) Harold E. Baumberger Jr. of Los Angeles and the bride’s brother, Stanley R. Thues of Capitola. Lt. Hamilton, a 1967 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., received his master’s degree in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. The bride is a 1969 graduate of San Jose State College. Before leaving for Hawaii, the young couple honeymooned in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
