Pacific Grove Review, CA June 8, 1906
Eustis-McQuilkin Wedding
A delightful weeding took place in Gilroy on Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. E.E. Eustis when Miss Myrtle Oleta Eustis became the wife of Dr. E.R. McQuilkin. The rooms were superbly decorated in the color scheme of pink and green. With the music of Mendelssohn’s wedding march the bridal party entered and took their place under a floral arch which had been opened by the nuptial pages, George and Leland Paul, nephews of the groom. The happy pair were attended by Miss Elda Eustis who bore the ring resting in the cup of a white lily. The bride was elegantly gowned in faille francais and carried a shower bouquet of beautiful carnations. The officiating clergymen were the Rev. T.J. McMurray, the pastor fo the bride and the Rev. J.H. Goodall, the pastor of the groom. After the ceremony Mrs. Fay McQuilken sang with choice expression, “O Promise Me,” and dainty refreshments followed. The rooms were filled with a host of friends who extended hearty congratulations and accompanied the newly wedded couple to the station where they took the train for a brief tour. With an abundance of the customary parting mementos, more interesting to the givers than to the recpients, doubtless, party wehre whirled away from their joyous friends. One room was reserved for the wedding gifts which were numerous and valuable. Both bride and groom are popular members of the churches and of society in their respective towns and will be followed with the best wishes of a large number of friends, for a happy and successful life. Mr. & Mrs. McQuilken will make their home in Pacific Grove.
