Pacific Grove Tide, CA April 2, 1937
Davis-Parsons Wedding is Set for Tomorrow
Pacific Grove will welcome a new addition to its married set this month when Harold E. Davis brings his bride home after a two weeks wedding trip, that will probably take them to Boulder Dam and territory around Death Valley. The marriage will be an event of tomorrow, Saturday afternoon at 4_40 o’clock in St. Mary’s by-the-Sea Episcopal church with the Rev. Charles E. Greenleaf officiating before members of the immediate families and a few close friends. The bride-to-be, who is Miss Mary Louise Parsons of Carmel, will be dressed in traditional white for the ceremony. Her dress of white net will have a bouffant skirt with puff sleeves and an interesting detail of buttons from the neckline to the waist in front. A face veil of mallees will be caught with a band fashioned of grosgrain ribbon and her bouquet will be of white roses and sweet peas. Unattended, she will be given in marriage by her father, Wick W. parsons, of Fresno. John Scott of San Francisco, who formerly lived in Pacific Grove, will serve as best man for Mr. Davis. Out-of-town guests at the wedding will include the parents of the bride-elect, Mr. & Mrs. Parsons, who have been staying in Carmel since last week-end, Mrs. Maude H. Davis of Oakland, mother of Mr. Davis, and Mrs. Grank Taylor, sister of Mr. Davis, and her husband, also of Oakland. Miss Parsons was graduated from the Fresno High School and the University of California. She also attended Fresno State College, and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega and Delta Kappa sororities. For the past three years, she has been residing in Carmel, where she has been managing an antique shop. Mr. Davis, manager of the local branch of the Bank of America, attended schools in Oregon and the University of California. Since ten years ago he has made his home in Pacific Grove. After their trip the couple will be at home to their friends at 349 Lighthouse avenue.
