Mr. & Mrs. Joe Coelho of Monterey were the surprised parens of twins, a boy and a girl, at the Peninsula Community Hospital January 4.
Mr. & Mrs. G.W. Souza of Monterey welcomed a baby girl January 3 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Frank Ellsworth Murphy Jr. was welcomed by Mr. & Mrs. F.E. Ellsworth of Knights Cottage camp. He ws born January 3 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Michael Joe Simmons – the little fellow arrived at 9:05 p.m., January 5th, at Monterey Hospital Ltd. His parents are Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Simmons of Pine Grove Auto Court, Monterey. Mr. Simmons is a ship’s cook, 3/c, in the Navy.

Sgt. and Mrs. Adam Welcome a Daughter “Ilona Kay”, Jan. 4
Ilona Kay is the intriguing name Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Adam have chosen for their first child born Jan. 4th at Monterey Hospital Ltd. The young lady made her debut just before her daddy becomes a civilian, as he expects to receive his discharge papers next Monday at Fort Ord where he is with the medical corps. Mrs. Adam was also in the army, having served 15 months with the Women’s Army Corps. Now living at the Lyle Cummins home, 230 Walnut, the young couple who came from the east, plan to establish ther permanent home here where Mr. Adam will continue at Ft. Ord as a civilian employee. Mrs. Adam is from Bolling Green, Kentucky, and Mr. Adam is from New Jersey. Although most of the new arrival’s relatives are in the east, she is receiving considerable attention from many local friends of her parents.

Joe Alvin Collins was the name chosen for the new son of Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Hamilton Collins of Pine Grove camp. The youngster, who weighted a husky 7 lbs. 6 ozs, was born December 27 at 7:40 p.m. at the Monterey hospital.
Girl for Bushells – Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Bushell of 405 Eardley avenue welcomed a baby girl at 6:02 p.m. December 30 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Glenna Fae Freitas was the name chosen for the infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Freitas of 186 Pine avenue. She was born around noontime December 27 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Butlers Have Son – Maj. And Mrs. J.L. Butler of 309 19th street welcomed a son December 28 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Happy New Year – the first baby of 1946 born on the Monterey Peninsula was the infant son of Mr. & Mrs. A.R. Bledsoe of 75 Robley Road, Salinas. He was born at the Peninsula Community Hospital.

Son for Hendersons – A son was born to Lt. and Mrs. Alvin C. Henderson of 58 Cabrillo Circle, Ord Village, January 16 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Tdudi Ann Duncan was the name chosen for the new daughter of Sgt. and Mrs. Roger Duncan of 311 Casanova, Monterey. She was born January 13 at 9:25 p.m. at the Monterey Hospital Ltd.
Sgt. and Mrs. Walter Millette of 451 Gibson avenue, welcomed a daughter January 15 at the Peninsula Community Hospital.
Evelyn Lorraine Leonard was the name chosen by Mr. & Mrs. George Leonard of 555 Abrego, Monterey for their infant daughter, born January 132 at 8:56 p.m. at the Monterey hospital.
Sharon Lee Garofalo was born January 13 to Mr. & Mrs. Frnak Garofalo of Seaside at the Peninsula Community Hospital.

Richard Henry Merritt IV Born to Lt. and Mrs. R.H. Merritt
Born to Leitenant and Mrs. Richard Merritt at a Klamath Falls hospital, Richard Henry Merritt IV was the first grandchild for Mr. & Mrs. R>H. Merritt of Pacific Grove. The Merritt family was informed of the birth of his son by Lt. Merritt, stationed at Kearney, Nebraska. Lt. Merritt, who has not seen his infant son, visited his wife over New Years during his Christmas leave. Three Pacific Grove uncles are Jack, who is attending the University of California at Berkley; Ens. Warren Marritt; and Cadet Midshipman Phillip Merritt, both assigned to ships. Maternal grandparents are Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Buchanan of Klamath Falls, Oregon. An aunt and uncle are Miss Dorothy Buchanan of Oakland and Jack Buchanan of Klamath Falls. Mrs. Merritt said she would be leaving soon for a visit in Klamath Falls to see the new addition.
