Monterey - Robert C. Stroeh, a retired banker and real estate agent, died Thursday in Saratoga. He was 76. Born Nov. 28, 1923, in LaCrosse, Wis., he lived in Monterey County for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Faye, owned and operated Grandma’s Kitchen in Pacific Grove and Monterey for 25 years before they sold it in 1996. Mrs. Stroeh worked for the Bank of America for 37 years, retiring as vice president and manager of the Seaside branch. He sold real estate for the next 11 years with Coldwell Banker. Mr. Stroeh was so active with the annual f-H Club auctions at the Monterey Fairgrounds that the board of directors dedicated the 1984 fair to him. He was a member of the Monterey Elks Club, the Del Rey Oaks Moose Lodge, the Monterey Lions Club and the Shriners. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jerry Armstrong of Salinas and Danny Koehler of Wisconsin; four daughters, Toni Ask of Del Rey Oaks, Karen Miller of San Ramon, Susan White of Wisconsin and Linda Ferguson of Texas; a foster son, Ronnie Hatfield of Salina, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Mission Mortuary. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Monterey, with burial to follow in San Carlos Cemetery.
