Seaside - Eloise Rue, a retired Civil Service employee, died Tuesday at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. She was 75. Born June 24, 1924, in Eckman, W.Va., she lived in Monterey County for 45 years. Mrs. Rue was an original member of the Seaside Yellow Jackets, a volunteer group that conducted neighborhood anti-crime patrols. She was also a former volunteer for the Alliance on Aging. She worked as a government inventory specialist for 25 years. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Chambers of Seaside and Peggy Rue Santiago of Hayward; a son, Don Rue of Germantown, Md.; two brothers, Otie Bowles of Kansas and Darwin Bowles of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Doris Cordle of Wake, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laguna Grande Park in Seaside. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to Alcohol Anonymous, Salinas; the Alliance on Aging, Monterey; or the Hospice Foundation, Monterey.
