State College, PA - Ventura Lucero, a retired home economics teacher, died Friday at Central Community Hospital in State College, Pa. She was 94. Born July 14, 1905, in Mineral Wells, Texas, she lived in Monterey County for more than 40 years. She taught home economics in adult classes for the Pacific Grove Unified School District for 30 years, retiring in 1967. She is survived by two daughters, Anita McGrail of Boalsburg, Pa., and Consuelo Porto of Antioch; a son, Joseph Lucero of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and one `great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mission Mortuary in Monterey. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at San Carlos Catholic Church in Monterey. Burial will follow at Mission Memorial Park. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the Ventura Lucero memorial fund in care of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College, Pa.
