Robert G. Deakin Succumbs Today
Robert Grant Deakin, 18 year old Pacific Grove high school student and assistant scoutmaster of Troop 90, died this morning at the Pacific Grove home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ira G. Deakin. Suffering from a lingering illness which claimed his life today, the young man had been out of school and other activities for a number of months. He was a native of Seattle, Washington, and came to the peninsula with his family 12 years ago. Ira Deakin, his father, is a well known Monterey business man and active in Boy Scout work. In addition to his parents he is survived by three sisters, Miona, Louise and Lulu Mae Deakin, and a brother, Wayne Deakin, all of Pacific Grove. Funeral services, which will be in charge of The Paul Mortuary, are to be announced later.

Deakin Funeral to be Held Tomorrow
Funeral services for Robert G. Deakin, Pacific Grove high school student who died yesterday morning, will be held at the Paul Mortuary chapel tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 10 o’clock. Cremation will follow in Santa Cruz.
