P.G. Resident Taken by Death
Eli Clayton La Porte, father of W.R. La Porte, Monterey realtor, passed away at his home, 505 Monterey street, Pacific Grove, at an early hour this morning, following an illness of several weeks. The funeral will probably be held Saturday, it was announced today, from the funeral parlors of J.K. Paul in the Grove. The hour will be announced later. The deceased was 55 years old, a native of Fall River, Massachusetts. He has been a resident of the Grove for over three years. In addition to his wife living in the Grove, he leaves his son, and one daughter. He was a member of the Baptist church in New Monterey.

La Porte Rites in P.G. Tomorrow
Funeral services will be held for E.C. LaPorte who passed away at his home, 505 Monterey street, Pacific Grove, yesterday, at .K. Paul’s funeral parlors in the Grove, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Orville Coats, pastor of the New Monterey Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be held in El Carmelo Cemetery. Surviving the deceased are many relatives living in the Grove, including E.P. LaPorte, his father, aged 84 years. He leaves one son, W.R. La Porte, and a daughter, Mrs. John C. Greenwald, both living in the Grove. A brother, Alfred LaPorte resides at Lowell, Massachusetts. E.C. LaPorte came to the Peninsula from Lowell, Massachusetts three years ago. He was 50 years of age, a native of Fall River, Massachusetts. Before his retirement some years ago he was in the brokerage business in the East.

Memory of P.G. Man is Honored
A large gathering of friends and relatives gathered at Paul’s funeral parlors this afternoon to pay a final tribute to the memory of the late E.C. La Porte, of Pacific Grove, who passed away at his home, 505 Monterey avenue. Following services at the parlors, with Rev. Orville Coats of the New Monterey Baptist church, officiating, interment took place at El Carmelo Cemetery. The pall-bearers were L.E. Kimball, William Cummings, Theodore Scholer, T.J. Speck, D.J. Greenwald, and Will Wright. The deceased was 50 years old, born in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was a resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, for about 40 years prior to coming to Pacific Grove three years ago. Surviving relatives of the departed man are as follows: Mrs. E.C. La Porte, his wife, E.P. La Porte, his aged father; W.R. La Porte, his son; Mrs. John C. Greenwald, his daughter; and a brother, Alfred La Porte, of Lowell, Mass. All the relatives except the last named are residents of Pacific Grove.
