Grove Resident Taken by Death
James Ferrier of Pacific Grove died yesterday at his home, 405Forest avenue at the age of 77. Death followed an illness of some weeks duration. The deceased was a native of Pennsylvania, but passed the greatest part of his life in Iowa and Nebraska. He was a resident of Pacific Grove for five years. His widow, Mrs. Sarah D. Ferrier, survives him, living in the Grove, as well as three sons and two married daughters. With one of the daughters, Mrs. Mary Galbraith, the deceased made his home in the Grove. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon a 2:00 o’clock at the Methodist church in Pacific Grove. Rev. C.E. Irons will officiate. Interment will take place at El Carmelo Cemetery, Pacific Grove, where the Pacific Grove Masonic order will be in charge. J.K. Paul of Pacific Grove is making the funeral arrangements.

Funeral Held for Grove Man
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church in Pacific Grove for James Ferrier who passed away in the Grove, Sunday. Rev. C.E. Irons, pastor of the church, was in charge of the service. Following the ceremonies at the church, interment took place at El Carmelo Cemetery near the Lighthouse The Pacific Grove Masons officiated at the cemetery. Pall-bearers from the Masonic order were as follows: Elmer Spotswood, C.K. Tuttle, Edward Johnson, A.L. Yates, E.C. Tuck, and H.G. Jorgensen, all of Pacific Grove. The deceased is survived by the widow, Mrs. Sarah L. Ferrier; by three sons, Louis Ferrier of Chicago, James Ferrier Jr., and Tim Ferrier, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. B.W. Williams of Sterling, Colorado, and Mrs. Leonard Galbraith of Pacific Grove. Sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren are living. One granddaughter, Phyllis Galbraith lives in the Grove. James Ferrier was 70 years old, a native of Pennsylvania. He came to Pacific Grove five years from the Middle West, where he spent the greater part of his life. Funeral arrangements made by J.K.
