Pneumonia Ends Useful Life of Mrs. Holman
Passes to Beyond After Brief Illness
Loss is Deeply Mourned

Mrs. Clarence E. Holman passed away at the family home one and one half miles south of Aromas yesterday morning at 11:30 o’clock surrounded by her family. Early in the morning she expressed the wish that her relatives in Pacific Grove be summoned to the home. After receiving a telephone call, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Gregorson and W.R. Holman started for the ranch in an automobile, but arrived too late. Mrs. Holman died after a brief illness of about ten days due to a severe attack of bronchial pneumonia. Everything was done to save her life but all efforts were of no avail. Mrs. Holman was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. G.M. Dawson. She was born in Illinois 38 years ago. When at the age of 21, her father moved to Pacific Grove with his family, where she met and married Clarence E. Holman December 31, 1901. The couple continued to reside in the Grove3, where Mr. Holman was employed in the store of his father, until six years ago, when they moved to the ranch near Aromas and have lived there since that time. Four children, Marion, Ivan, Audrey and Granison, between the ages of 5 and 12, have blessed the union of the happy couple. The husband and children will deeply mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. It was stated last evening that the Rev. Leslie M. Burwell will conduct the funeral services, which will be held at the family residence this morning. The body will be shipped to Pacific Grove for interment, arriving there on the 2 p.m. train. It will be taken immediately to El Carmelo Cemetery for interment. J.A. Pell will have charge of the funeral. Besides her immediate family Mrs. Holman leaves to mourn her loss, her father, G>M. Dawson and three brothers, Dayton, Charles and Richard, all of whom reside near Aromas; and four sisters, Mrs. Belle Fortnan who lives in Illinois; Mrs. R.S. Murray and Mrs. G.A. Gregorson, both of Pacific Grove; and Mrs. Charles Klaumann of New Monterey. Besides these a host of people in Pacific Grove and Aromas mourn the loss of a dear friend and neighbor.
