Elderly Minister Passes to Reward
Rev. C.F. Coy Leaves a Widow and Three Children to Mourn Him
Rev. Charles F. Coy, a minister of the Methodist faith since 1886, died in Pacific Grove Sunday evening after an illness of some kind. Born 57 years ago in Abrington, Ill., Dr. Coy received his education at Hedding College, Abrington, and was married in 1882 to Miss Lucia May Cochran of that city. He moved to California three years later and entered the California Conference in 1886 under which jurisdiction he served many charges. At a conference ein Pacific Grove in 1913, he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered and since that time has resided in one of the superannuated ministers’ cottage on Lighthouse avenue. To mourn his loss there remain his widow and three children: Mrs. Herbert F. Dalhill of Palo Alto, Owen C. Coy of Berkeley, and Louise Coy of Pacific Grove. The funeral is to be held this afternoon from the Methodist church in Pacific Grove, Rev. Leslie M. Burwell officiating. Dr. Burwell will be assisted by Rev. E.R. Wilks, D.D. of San Francisco, Rev.Co’s former district superintendent. Charles Fremont, buried in El Carmelo Cemetery

Coy, Charles F., age 57, died in Monterey County on Oct. 5, 1914, #30395
