Dennis Charles Williams -- passed away unexpectedly in Sunnyvale. He was a native of Pacific Grove, born June 13, 1946. He was 56. He has been a resident of Sunnyvale for 35 years. He had been a manager of human resources for several high tech. firms in the Silicon Valley for 30 years. He was also a volunteer for the city of Sunnyvale on the Compensation Review Board. Dennis enjoyed people of all ages, especially children. He was a devoted and fun-filled father, grandfather and uncle. After he graduated from College he was employed by the Santa Clara County Children's Center. He had recently been certified as a child advocate for Santa Clara County and looked forward to helping at risk children. Although he lived and worked in Sunnyvale, he frequently visited his childhood home in Pacific Grove. He was a frequent visitor at his mothers' retirement home, where he knew most residents by name. Dennis loved classic cars, electronics and tools of all kinds. He was passionate about jazz, history, chocolate and Zinfandel. He loved to roughhouse, tease and tell jokes. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his son, Paul C. Williams of Sacramento, his daughter Emily A. Williams of Sunnyvale, his brother Neil Williams of Los Gatos, his sister Lucy Moore of Madison, WI, and his mother Mary Williams of Pacific Grove, also by two grandchildren and one nephew. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove, Sunset and 17 Mile Drive. Inurnment will be at the El Carmelo Cemetery, Pacific Grove. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of cremation arrangements. Contributions may be made to: Child Advocates of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, 509 Valley Way, Milpitas, CA 95035.
