Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Aug. 19, 1935 p2
James MacKenzie Dies of Injuries
James A. MacKenzie, resident of Pebble Beach and prominent in San Francisco legal circles, succumbed last Thursday in Dante sanitarium, San Francisco, following injuries received in an automobile wreck at Burlingame the Sunday before. The car in which MacKenzie was riding was crashed into by that of Manuel Oliveria, San Mateo. Oliveiria was killed outright, and Miss Muriel Parks, passenger in the MacKenzie machine, died soon afterward. Mrs. Evelyn Parks, mother of Miss Parks, is still in a hospital in a critical condition. MacKenzie was reported to have sustained a broken arm and hip and at first was thought not to be dangerously hurt. He was prominent in state and peninsula golf circles being a member of the California Golf association board of directors, and of the Cypress Point and Monterey Peninsula Country clubs. In recent years he had resumed practice of law in San Francisco, having offices in the Hobart building.
