Leo Anderson Succumbs in Salinas
Leo Anderson, 50, of 617 Broadway, Seaside, a resident of the Peninsula for the past year, died Sunday in a Salinas hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Anderson was a native of Topeka, Kansas, but spent his boyhood and received his education in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was engaged in mining through most of his life, but for a time was an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Since coming to Seaside he had made his home with a sister, Mrs. Minnie Tassainer, and his mother, Ms. Katherine Anderson. In addition to them, he leaves two other sisters, Mrs. Nora Waggner of Oakland, and Mrs. Kitty Hall of Glendale, and a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Marks of Oakland. Rosary will be said at 8 o’clock this evening in the T.A. Dorney Chapel. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Seaside, following rites at 9 in the Dorney Chapel Burial will take place in the Monterey Catholic Cemetery.
