Dr. Stephen Baird

Stem Cells.

Dr Baird's lectures each April have become a tradition at NSDCGS where he has discussed diverse subjects in the fields of disease, epidemics, pandemics, mortality, DNA research, etc. and how each relates to genealogical research.

Dr Baird is Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine and Chief of Pathology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in La Jolla. He has received several prestigious awards in teaching. His research interests are in lymphomas, leukemias, and has studied extensively the genetics of human diseases and the genetic variations found in modern humans. This will be his eighth appearance before NSDCGS where he has discussed the diseases of our ancestors, human migration, and various DNA related subjects. He normally closes each discussion with a tune that he has written.
