Built around 1910, this building was once an ice
cream parlor and drug store with pool tables in the back. Joe Cooke, with the
help of his son Bob, ran it from 1932 until Joe's death. Bob and his mother, Timey, ran the establishment until 1942, when Aldo and
Marie Sorsoli bought it. The store became the Taylorsville
Tavern in the 1940’s. To
the left is the Vernon House Hotel, owned by John Hardgrave.
