HONOR/MEMORIAL BOOKS COLLECTION
The Honor/Memorial Books Collection was started in October of 2001, for Family History Month, by Bob Brasher and Aaron Day. Members and friends are encouraged to buy a book in memory of someone, or to honor someone. A bookplate will be placed in the book and it will be added to the collection at the main Long Beach Public Library.
The following books are among those that have been donated to the collection:
- "California Surname Index: Biographies from Selected Histories" by Barbara Close. Donated to the collection by the Questing Heirs Society in honor of Myrtelle Wheeler Molyneaux.
- Collection of books from the "Aberdeen & Northeast Scotland Family History Society." Donated to the collection by Bruce Brightman.
- "Historical Collections of the State of Pennsylvania" by Sherman Day. Donated to the collection by Aaron Day, in honor of Bob and Marilyn Brasher.
- "Stonewall Jackson at Cedar Mountain" by Robert K. Krick. Donated by Mary Frances Reger-Wilkinson, in memory of her brother, Colonel Charles Kenneth Reger.
- "Stars in Their Courses: The Gettysburg Campaign" by Shelby Foote. Donated by Mary Frances Reger-Wilkinson, and Marie Wilkinson Johnson, in memory of Mary's son, and Marie's husband, George Reger Wilkinson.
- "Poetry for a Lifetime" by Samuel Norfleet Etheredge. Donated by Mary Frances Reger-Wilkinson, in memory of her husband, Bernard Robert Wilkinson.
Marilyn Brasher also ordered the following books from the Pike County, Illinois Historical Association, and gave them to the library.

We are continuing to expand our Honor/Memorial Books Collection. If you have a book or books to donate in honor or memory of someone, please contact Aaron Day, phone (562) 634-6708, email ADAYDEC@aol.com, or Bob Brasher, phone (562) 430-2903. You may also bring your donation to the Questing Heirs monthly meeting.
Have you included Questing Heirs in your estate planning?
Your long hours of genealogical research, including notes and book collections could be available to others through Questing Heirs. Bequests of money or securities could also be put to good use. They would benefit many future genealogists through the purchase of books and equipment.
We welcome your gifts at any time. We are a tax-exempt organization.
If you have any questions or need help with your estate planning and disposition, please call the president, Liz Myers, phone (562) 598-3027, email stookesberry@gmail.com.
