Del Rey Cemetary

Del Rey Cemetery (AKA: Prairie Cemetery) –

Directions: If you are North of Fresno, take 99 South. Exit at Jensen Ave., just south of Fresno. Take Jensen Ave. East and proceed East for about 18 miles. Turn South on McCall Ave. and continue South about 5.5 miles. The cemetery will be on the West side of McCall just after the McCall and American Ave. intersection.

There is a cement walkway that divides this small cemetery into two sections, North and South. The first 98 headstones are on the North side and were documented starting from the North-East corner. The 99^th headstone to the end are located on the South side of the cemetery, starting once again, from the North-East corner.

There are several unmarked graves throughout this graveyard. The Del Rey/Sanger Cemetery District may have information on those graves, but they also might not. The cemetery records were consolidated in 1994. There is at least one case where a grave has two names on the headstone and an infant buried in the same plot, and only one of those people are in their records. That example happened to me. In any case, their records are incomplete.
