This work is "dedicated to the memory of those Sierra County pioneers whose final resting places are cataloged by this effort, and to the many more whose places of repose have been lost to nature and poor memory.  Dedicated as well to the memory of the Honorable Reginald Littrell, Presiding Judge of the Sierra County Superior Court and friend, a later pioneer who accompanied the author on many field trips regarding this survey."
