A couple from Trinity county were married by Judge Lennon Monday afternoon in his office at the city hall. They were Robert L. Cathay, aged 39, and Mrs. Emma Williams, aged 40. They were both natives of California and residents of Trinity Center. They left this city in the afternnon on the dunsmuir local going as far as Redding. From there they will go tho their home at Trinity Center.

WEAVERVILLE - Marion H. Amundsen, 77, of Weaverville died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at her residence. A private service will be held later in Chester, Mont. Born June 8, 1927, in Minot, N.D., she moved to Weaverville in 1962 from Pinole. She was a longtime member of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Women of the Moose in Lewiston. She is survived by husband Robert. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Chapel in Weaverville.

Robert R. Amundsen, age 79, a residentof Weaverville, Calif., died on Jan. 31, 2005, at his home followingan extended illness. He was born on Nov. 18, 1925, to Casper and Ellen (Hendrickson) Amundsen of Mendocino. At his request, no memorial service will be held. Arrangements are by McDonald-Files Chapel of Weaverville. He spent his early years in Mendocino and worked as a logger. He then went to work for PG&E as a truck driver and worked there for 34 years. His work brought him to Weaverville in 1963. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lodge #27 F & A.M. of Weaverville, the Loyal Order of Moose #1850 of Lewiston, and the Trinitinarius Chapter of E. Clampus Vitus. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and abalone picker. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Pam Amundsen, of Fort Bragg; grandchildren, Ryan and Rachelle and their families; a great granddaughter, Peyton; nephews Les, Ed and Richard Amundsen and their families; and many friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Les and Clifford, and his wife Marian. The family would like to thank Lois Templeton for the care she had given him over the last several months.

Victim Accident Trinity County is Laid at Rest

The remains of Richard B. Graves were received in Red Bluff from Trinity county Thursday morning and were laid at rest in the local cemetery during the afternoon. Mr. Graves met death in a runaway accident in the mountains near his home in Trinity county presumably about September 17. The remains were found by Henry Miller, a forest service lookout, on September 24. Graves was looking after cattle in the mountain and the horse he was riding is supposed to have run away with him, dragging him a distance of a half mile. Mr. Graves was born in Nevada and was 61 years old. He was a prominent stockman of Trinity county and had been successful in the mining business several years ago. In 1880 he was united in marriage in Red Bluff to Miss Ida Barber, who survives him. He has a brother, John B. Graves residing in San Francisco, and many other relatives.

The body of C.H. Peterson, a Trinity county pioneer, was discovered in a flume which passes through Weaverville. It is thought he died from an apoplectic fit.

In Red Bluff - a native of the Azores, named Jose Gonzales Sagres, who came here about a week ago from Lewiston, Trinity county, dropped dead in the rear of Elmore's drug store yesterday afternoon. He was ailing from consumption, and sought Dr. Cameron's advice, but nothing could be done for him as he was in the last stages of the disease. He was buried to-day.
