The Yolo County Archive is now open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on TUESDAYS from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and THURSDAYS from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m..

The Yolo County Archives has a volunteer who will
look up obituaries as a fund-raiser for The Friends of
the Yolo County Archives. All proceeds will go to support
the Archives. (You can use this
form to fill out the request for an obituary lookup and
mail to the Yolo County Archive for your obituary
request(s).)
The following information is taken from the latest Yolo County Archive brochure:
FEE: $10.00 per name - Fee is for the service of searching for one published obituary. Pre-paid by Check or Money Order - Payable to: Friends of the Yolo County Archives. (The fee is non-refundable).
"Response Time: Please allow 6-8 weeks."
The Yolo County Archive cannot guarantee that an obituary will be found. In some cases none were created. Occasionally a Death Notice may be the only item located, and will act as the response.
"Records Searched: Archives Obituary Collection - 18,000+ Obituaries & Death Notices. When deemed necessary, an External Search at one or more of the following Yolo County Libraries will be provided: Davis Branch Library, West Sacramento Branch Library, Winters Branch Library, Woodland City Public Library, University of California - Davis (UCD) Library."

"Requests will be returned if received without at least the month and year of death. Day, month, and year are obviously preferred for search purposes.
"Requests that do not provide a city, town, or area of Yolo County as the place of residence or death will be researched when time permits. Our success rate is high, please help us maintain it - provide information!"
