BAGLEY - HENDERSON
My natural father's name was
Claude L. BAGLEY; he was born about 1898/99 in Missouri and was
47 years of age at the time of my birth. He was employed as
a horse trainer for a rodeo. He was of English heritage; stood
5 feet 5 inches tall, weighed 145 pounds and had brown hair, blue
eyes and a fair complexion. His mother died at the age of
74, and his father at the age of 86. My father had one older brother.
My natural parents were married and there was a Birth Announcement
for me in the Placerville newspaper on July 25, 1946.
My natural mother's name is
unknown. She was born about 1923 in California and was of English
and Italian heritage, stood 5 feet 4 ½ inches tall, weighted
109 pounds, and had brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.
She was employed as a rodeo helper at the time of my adoption but
family members and friends have stated that she became a trick rider
performing in rodeos. My maternal grandmother was 40 years of age
when I was born. My maternal grandfather was killed in WWII.
My mother was an only child.
In March of 1947, my name was
still listed as Judith Ann BAGLEY on the adoption records the State
of California has given me. Thomas Floyd and Ruth Isabel HENDERSON
of Clarksburg, Yolo County, California adopted me. My brother was
born about 1948/49.
Please contact me if you can
help me with my family tree.

Thomas, Daniel and Laura BURNS. They moved to CA from TN sometime
around 1851. Their mother, Caroline, and an infant died shortly

Laura lived with a family named TRAVERS near Woodland where they
owned a ranch. She married Henry FURRY, a man who apparently worked

the Travers ranch and another ranch near Cashville, until Thomas
moved to Humboldt Co. and Daniel became county clerk of Yolo County.
In 1880, Daniel became Secretary of State under Governor Pike.

GEAR - GEER - CARESMA
I recently relocated from Southern
California to Northern California and I am looking for ancestors/descendants
of Gertrude GEAR (GEER) or CARESMA from the Clarksburg area. My
great grandmother came from the Azores Island and married Joseph
E. LEE also from the Azores. I am not sure if they married in the
Azores or in Clarksburg area. I am trying to find out information
on her family. I think some of her siblings were Amelia and Rose
GEAR possibly from Terceira. Gertrude was born 11-1866 and died
March 7, 1936, in Sacramento. Rose GEAR married an Albert MENDES
whose name was Albert RODGERS and they had the following children:
Albert, Margaret, Amelia, George, Frank, Edward, Willie and Mary
RODGERS. They too might have lived in Clarksburg I am not sure.
I do not know much about the family yet. I am not sure how they
got to Folsom, perhaps by way of Hawaii? I am looking for any information
or documents on this family. Gertrude had the following children:
Manuel, Mary, Frank. John, Laura, William (my grandfather), Antone.
The family owned land near the Souza Ranch in Clarksburg as my mom
remembers going to Catholic instruction there. She too was born
in Clarksburg. I am not sure if the local Catholic Church still
has records that far back or if their births were recorded elsewhere..

LEE - LEAL
I recently relocated from Southern
California to Northern California and I am looking for ancestors/descendants
of Joseph E. LEE from the Clarksburg area. My great grandfather
came to Clarksburg from the Azores Island in 1882. He married
Gertrude GEAR (GEER) or CARESMA, also from the Azores. She had
been in the U.S. since 1882 also. Do not know if they were married
in the Azores or not. I do not know what ship or where they came
in at. According to verbal history, the family name was LEAL and
he decided there were too many LEALs so he changed the name to
LEE. They had the following children: Joe, Manuel, Mary, Frank,
John, Laura, William (my grandfather), and Antone. The children
were born from 1883-1899. They owned a ranch down from the Souza
ranch in Clarksburg approximately 16 acres. My mother remembers
the Catholic Church in Clarksburg and heard that they lost some
of their records due to a fire. The family traveled to Folsom
a lot and my grandfather ended up marrying Katherine FRATIS from
Folsom. The two of them would settle in Clarksburg. I am looking
for any information on the LEE family and their siblings. I do
not know if Joseph LEE had siblings living in Clarksburg. I am
assuming he did. Any help anyone could give me would be appreciated.
It is located in a rural area and any information would be appreciated.

O'SULLIVAN - mystery:
lost relative
I am searching for a relative who
was literally lost. He worked on ranches in the Woodland area, so
the family story goes. In about the year, 1937, he was missing.
The family in San Francisco went to look for him with no luck. I
don't know who he worked for, as I wasn't born yet, and the older
family members are gone. This is what I know: Jeremiah O'SULLIVAN
was born in County Cork, Ireland, late 1880's, and came to San Francisco
to join his brother Michael, sister Margaret O'S WALSH, Nellie O"S.
HURLEY, and Julia O'S. MURPHY.
Are there any papers of the time
that would indicate his death or disappearance? Is he
listed in any directories or city census' or church affiliations.
He was a Catholic. Perhaps when he was listed as missing by his
employer and family, the church posted a "pray for" request. Do
you have any county records for un-identified bodies of that time?
This is quite vague, I realize, but
if you care to take up an old missing persons case with me, I'd
be extremely grateful.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Julie Collins Fontanacol@aol.com

I am looking for a daughter of Prince
Albert and Frances (Coppage Renfro) STRONG: Mary B (Strong) and

Mary L BLAIR married William Alfred
STRONG on 7 Aug 1873. Mary L. is listed as the wife of A W
STRONG in the 1880 Yolo Co Census. Linnie BLAIR is listed as a stepdaughter,
but it looks like her father was b in NY and mother in IL. So it
